M83 Drops 'Saturdays = Youth' Rarities Collection, Announces More Reissues

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 16, 2015

We're still waiting for French electro-pop songsmith Anthony Gonzalez to deliver the follow-up to M83's 2011 Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, but he's unveiled a few upcoming releases that should tide fans over for the next little bit.

First up, a new rarities compilation titled Saturdays = Youth Remixes and B-sides drops today (October 16) via Mute. As the name implies, it features reinterpretations and previously unavailable tracks from M83's 2008 album Saturdays = Youth, including remixed offerings from Montag and Jori Hulkkonnen. The full tracklisting is available below.

In addition to the freshly unearthed rarities, a couple of M83's out of print albums are getting treated to reissues. The aforementioned Saturdays = Youth and 2007's ambient effort Digital Shades will both arrive on CD and LP formats on November 20 through Mute.

Last year, M83's 2001 self-titled debut, 2003's Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts and 2005's Before the Dawn Heals Us were given similar rereleases, along with Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts and Before the Dawn Heals Us remix and B-sides albums.

A press release notes that Gonzalez is currently working on new M83 material that is expected to arrive in 2016. To help ease the wait, revisit Gonzalez's recent collaborative contribution to the Insurgent soundtrack featuring HAIM in the player below.
