Toronto-based psych quintet Mother Tongues have been making waves in their local music scene for years, and now they've finally announced their first release. Debut EP Everything You Wanted is due on July 31 via Buzz Records.

The group — which includes Luna Li mastermind (and recent breakout star) Hannah Bussiere Kim, plus members of Maylee Todd's band and Mimico — have also shared EP track "Let You Down." The sprightly, upbeat number is reminiscent of Tame Impala and Broadcast, evolving into a lush, guitar-driven soundscape. Other songs on the EP recall a range of influences from Stereolab to Black Sabbath.

"We're music lovers and that's who we made this record for. It's our compass and the catalyst for everyone and everything near and dear to us," said founding member Lukas Cheung. "More than anything, I hope the record expresses a sense of wonder to the listener. I think we downplay that aspect, you're rippin' it through a fuzz pedal, vibrating frequencies in the air and affecting people's emotions, changing their brain chemistry. That's magic."
