Onetime Misfits drummer Joey Image has reportedly died. While the band have yet to confirm Image's passing, a Facebook post today from The New York Hardcore Chronicles states, "Joey Image of The Misfits dead at 63. Rest in Peace."

Born Joey Poole on March 5, 1957, Joey Image was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016, leading him to eventually move to South Florida to seek treatment.

Image joined the Misfits in 1978, serving as the band's drummer on such classic tracks as "Horror Business" and "Night of the Living Dead." While only playing with the band until 1980, Image's drum work can be found on 1979's Horror Business EP, as well as on the Beware EP. Later on, his playing appeared on such compilation releases as Legacy of Brutality and 1986's self-titled comp.

After a disastrous U.K. tour with the Damned, Joey Image left the Misfits in December 1979. He would later go on to play in such groups as Whorelords, Human Buffet, the Undead, the Strap-Ons and others.

Joey Image would also reunite with the Misfits in 2000 for a show in Fort Lauderdale, where he played a series of classic tracks with the Jerry Only and the rest of the band's current lineup at the time.
