"I have always had this idea that I wanted to release my own music on the date 4/20"

It's long been recognized that two of Mike Dean's greatest loves are the sweet leaf and sweeter synthesizers, so its only fitting that the producer has rolled out a new mixtape to mark April 20.

The frequent Kanye West and Travis Scott collaborator has shared solo effort 4:20, which you can hear in its entirety below.

The instrumental tape features multiple different song suites including "The Eighth Night." That song's creation process was captured earlier this year by Moog, as you'll also find below.

"I have always had this idea that I wanted to release my own music on the date 4/20," Dean explained in a press release. "Without my usual musical collaborators, I used the self-isolating experience to improvise on my synthesizers. I felt like I was inside AND in space, I want to share where my head is at these days. This album is almost entirely comprised of the music I created in one take via live streams on Instagram."

This year has seen Mike Dean lend production to releases by Gorillaz, 070 Shake, Don Tolliver and Selena Gomez.
