The life of Miles Davis was explored in last year's experimental Miles Ahead, but that won't be the last word on the late jazz great. Davis's life is set to be explored in another biopic, and this time he'll be played by Michael K. Williams.
The celebrated actor known for The Wire and Boardwalk Empire has long been hinting at the role, having mentioned the project as early as 2011. Rather than keep us guessing, Williams insists that the film is still coming.
In a new interview with Radar [via FACT], Williams said the film is "very much happening," adding, "Knock on wood, that will probably be going into production, hopefully, first quarter of 2018. That's the goal."
Watch the new interview with Michael K. Williams below. The Miles Davis talk kicks in at the 31:50 mark.
Unfortunately, there's still no word on whether or not his Ol' Dirty Bastard biopic is still happening.
