Laurel Halo Details 'Behind the Green Door' EP, Shares New Track

Laurel Halo's 2012 gave us both her Quarantine LP and the Sunlight on the Faded EP, and now the electronic artist is gearing up to return in May with her next mini-effort, Behind the Green Door.

The four-song outing, which Hyperdub drops May 20, apparently builds on the mood of previous studio explorations, though this time the songs were sculpted using her current live set up.

"I would say it's about halfway between," she told Spin of the sessions. "They're not live jams, obviously; they are edited and composed tracks, but they're heading in that direction, for sure. They're all tracks that I've played live, so I got really familiar with the moods of each of the tracks. I wanted to build on the sinister and dark energies of the earlier releases, but make it more active, in a way, and less passive, if that makes sense."

You can sample the EP's opening high-brow house explorer "Throw" in the player down below.
