Killswitch Engage have announced they are charging back our way with a new album. Titled Atonement, the LP will arrive on August 16 via Metal Blade Records. And right now, you can hear the album opener "Unleashed."
Atonement marks the band's eighth studio album and their first with Metal Blade. The record includes vocal guests Chuck Billy, as well as former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones, who guests on the track "The Signal Fire."
For now, though, the band have shared the new song "Unleashed."
In a statement, Killswitch Engage singer Jesse Leach had this to say about the album opener:
"Unleashed" is about inner passion and rage coming up to the surface. We all have that wild within that often stays dormant until a tragic event triggers and awakens it. This song is about that awakening within.
I feel we were able to capture something raw and intense on this song and I'm stoked for everyone to hear it! The new album Atonement is a reflection of perseverance and passion through the trials and suffering of our existence.
Killswitch Engage will be embarking on a co-headlining tour with Clutch this summer, including playing Heavy Montreal in July. You can see all the dates at the bottom of the page.
