Hillside Inside Readies 2021 Virtual Edition

Performers include Sam Roberts Band, DJ Shub, iskwē and more

The younger sibling of Guelph's Hillside Festival, Hillside Inside — which was launched to bring audiences out of hibernation during the quiet month of February — is delivering yet another edition of Hillside Inside for 2021, and the initial lineup has been revealed.

Taking place February 5 to 7, the three-day event will be taking place virtually, filled with musical performers, comedians, storytellers, workshops and an array of other video-based activities. 

With more performers to still be announced, the lineup presently includes iskwē & Tom Wilson, DJ Shub, Sam Roberts Band, Steve Poltz, Nyssa, Chris Locke & Seán Cullen, Shred Kelly, Jude Vadala, Martha Chaves, Lauryn Macfarlane, Nicolette Hoang, Ken Morris, Twas Now, and Ramon Chicharron. 

UPDATE (1/12, 10:30 a.m. ET): The latest additions to the lineup have been released including performances from: Moscow Apartment, the Slocan Ramblers, Paige Rutledge, Cris Derksen, Olivia Shortt, Terra Lightfoot, the Nunnery, Laurie Elliott, Mike Rita, Derek Seguin, Folk Lordz, Jasper Tey, DakhaBrakha, Alexandra Delle Donne, Bedouine, Kevin Thomair and Solena Jade Williams, Morgan-Paige Melbourne, Teaira Lynn Garcia (Youth performer) and Yuli Cruz Roo (Youth performer). 

Workshops will also be held by Heather Johnston on crocheting, Heather Plewes and Paulo LaBerge on winter cycling, Katelin Thériault on mindful mending, Misaki Ojiro on figure skating and Rene Meshake with a brief lesson on Anishinaabemowin.

UPDATE (1/28, 5:30 p.m. ET): Performances from Laden, Serena Ryder, Courtney Marie AndrewsTré Burt, Halley McKeown, Missy Bauman, Saba Yazdanpanah, Tania Joy, Ramon Chicharron and The Laws have since been added to the Hillside Inside lineup. Additional workshops have also been added, including Luke Weiler on making stock, Andrew Catton on running in the winter, Big John Leacock on making macaroni pie and Delaram Zahedi on baking bread.
