Over two years removed from taking on ten cover songs with their Teal Album, Weezer have now delivered their rendition of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" ahead of a massive covers compilation celebrating the thrash icons' Black Album.
As you'll hear below, Weezer's take on "Enter Sandman" plays things pretty close to Metallica's well-worn original. Keep your ears open, and you may catch a bit of "Buddy Holly" in the solo section.
Weezer's cover of "Enter Sandman" will sit alongside interpretations from Alessia Cara & the Warning, Mac DeMarco, Ghost, Rina Sawayama and Juanes on The Metallica Blacklist.
The 53-song set will also feature Black Album covers from St. Vincent, Jason Isbell, Kamasi Washington, PUP and many more. The Metallica Blacklist is out digitally on September 10, while 4-CD and 7-LP versions will arrive on October 1 through Blackened Recordings.
Last month, Rivers Cuomo shared that this year's Van Weezer will be followed by their ambitious four-album Seasons project.
