Halifax's OBEY Convention will return to the city this May, and organizers have now shared the initial lineup for the fest's 12th instalment.
Taking place from May 30 to June 2 in a variety of alternative and historic spaces around the city, this year's OBEY Convention will so far feature performances from DJ Haram, Eartheater, Tomoko Sauvage, Justice Yeldham, Mich Cota, Debby Friday, the Brodie West Quintet and Korea Town Acid.
As in years past, the fest will feature the EverySeeker Symposium (a daily dose of educational insight) and O'BABY (an immersive drop-in workshop for children and caretakers). This year's festival also marks the launch of an inaugural composer-in-residence program.
A limited number of specially priced early bird festival passes are available now. Regularly priced passes will arrive with a second wave of artists, set to be announced March 5.
