Godflesh have shared the first song from their forthcoming Purge — their first new album in six years — in addition to details of a North American tour.
As promised upon announcing the LP last month, opening track "Nero" and "3 self remixes" from the duo of Justin K. Broadrick and B. C. Green have arrived today as the NERO EP, which you can hear in the player below.
On top of that menacing, dissonant arrival, Godflesh have also lifted the curtain on a North American tour behind the album, due to kick off in June with support from Prison Religion and Cel Genesis on select dates.
As part of a September leg, two stops on the 17-date trek come in Canada. Godflesh will first lay waste to Montreal's Foufounes Electriques on September 20, ahead of conquering Lee's Palace the following evening (September 21).

The NERO EP has also been pressed to coloured vinyl in an edition of 1,000 pieces, available via Bandcamp and Broadrick's official website.
As Godflesh note on Bandcamp, the "REMIX," "ALT REMIX" and "DUB" mix of will also appear on the 2-CD Japanese edition of Purge, and "will eventually be included in the forthcoming 'NEW FLESH IN DUB VOL 2,'" a follow-up to 2021's VOL 1 that is "scheduled for mid 2024."
Purge, which follows Godflesh's 2017 album Post Self, arrives June 9 via Avalanche Records.
