Former Members of Unicorns and Arcade Fire Present Clues

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Nov 4, 2008

Former Unicorn Alden Penner and ex-Arcade Fire-man Brendan Reed have leaked word that their Clues project is ready for a full-length. The group, made of up of Penner, Reed and some of their Montreal cohorts, will release Clues’ debut studio album in April 2009 via hometown label Constellation and their imprint, Villa Villa Nola.

Clues formed back in 2007 and have since played a pile of Montreal shows, which reportedly often involve more than a few drummers and "a bent Commodore 64" (or so says Stereogum). In that time, Clues also started their online music clearing house, VVN, which has put out a long string of releases by such artists as Sam Shalabi, the Creeping Nobodies and Veda Hille.

There’s no firm release date yet for the Clues album, and at this point they haven’t given it a name or a tracklisting either. However, they do have a few shows coming up (none of which are in Canada, though).

Here are the dates:

11/4 New York, NY - Exit Art
11/5 Annandale-on-Hudson, NY - SMOG (Bard College)
11/6 Burlington, VT - TBA
11/7 Hanover, NH - Fuel (Dartmouth College)
11/8 Bennington, VT - The Student Center (Bennington College)
11/29 Utrecht, Netherlands - Tivoli
