Exclaim!'s Staff Picks: Bratboy Deliver Rock 'n' Roll Mayhem with Precision on 'Bratworld'

Guitarist Bella Bébé and bassist Megan Magdelena used to play in the backing band of proggy, poppy post-hardcore songwriter Jo Passed — and that technical precision comes in handy on Bratworld, their first album as Bratboy (f.k.a. bb). The Vancouver trio, also featuring journeyman drummer Tony Dallas, kick up a good-natured racket, with bubblegum Ramones hooks going toe-to-toe with twiddly fretboard heroics ("Dream Rope"), speaker-frying bass fuzz ("Moloko") and spaghetti western punk ("1948"). That's rock 'n' roll, baby!
