It's now due out in July

Dixie Chicks have postponed the release of Gaslighter, which would have marked the trio's first new album in 14 years.

Initially set to arrive May 1, the album's new release date has yet to be determined. Dixie Chicks shared the album's title track back in March.

UPDATE (6/11, 11:15 a.m. ET): Gaslighter now has a new release date of July 17.

Dixie Chicks now join an increasingly large group of artists who have elected to delay album releases due to the coronavirus pandemic, including HAIM, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Lamb of God, Jaga Jazzist, the Psychedelic Furs, Corb Lund and Margo Price.

Whenever it arrives, Gaslighter will follow Dixie Chicks' 2006 album Taking the Long Way. Recent years have seen the Dixie Chicks team up with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
