Devours is gearing up to release his sophomore album Iconoclast, and we're getting a proper taste of it today via a new video for its "Curmudgeon."
This marks the first single/video from the upcoming album, and as Devours mastermind Jeff Cancade explains, "Curmudgeon" very much comes with a message:
The "Curmudgeon" video is about transformation — from mainstream to underground, heteronormative to queer, masculine to feminine. It also serves as a middle finger to the misogyny and obsession with masculinity still prevalent within the gay community. Throughout the video, I shed my skin, embrace my queer identity, and join forces with my squad of gayngels on a Vancouver rooftop to tell the world that we're out here, loud and proud.
You can watch the transformation take place before your very eyes in the "Curmudgeon" video down below.
As previously reported, Iconoclast is set to arrive via Artoffact Records on March 8. You can pre-order the album here on Bandcamp and here on Spotify.
The album follows Devours' 2016 debut album Late Bloomer.
