Montreal-based artist Daniel Isaiah has gained acclaim for his short films and work in various bands, but his latest album Come into Gone sees him stepping out solo again to follow-up 2011's High Twilight. The album arrives at the end of the month, but in anticipation of its release, Exclaim! has got your first look at the video for latest single "Heaven Is on Fire."
We previously described the track as one that features "breathy pop melodies atop swaggering rhythms, swooning synths and watery guitar echoes," and now it's been paired with some visuals. The video was directed by Becca Blackwood, and stars Louis Negin and Marie Brassard.
It opens with an eccentric elderly gentleman (played by Negin) shining shoes to the beat of the song, before delving deeper into his personal life where dancing, dress-up and acting as a human clock take up the screen time.
"When Daniel first came to me with the song 'Heaven is on Fire,' I was struck by how much was going on in it... kind of a beautiful chaos," said Blackwood in a statement. "I strived to match that feeling with the images as well, using the character's mind as a reflection of the chaos."
Come into Gone is out on March 31 via Secret City Records. Right now, though, you can watch the video for "Heaven Is on Fire" below.
