Montreal-based singer-songwriter Steph Yates — a.k.a. Exclaim! New Faves alum Cots — has announced her follow-up to 2021's debut album Disturbing Body. Moonlit Building arrives on January 25, 2023, on Boiled Records.

Today, we get a preview with the record's title track, which arrives alongside a music video directed by Sarafina Bortolon-Vettor. Produced by FET.NAT's Olivier Fairfield, the track is said to "deepen the beautiful, sombre, mysterious elements of Yates's songwriting."

Yates said of the collaboration in a statement: "I have long admired Olivier's rhythmic sensibility and his knack for moodiness in production, and felt he might be a good match for this set of songs. Working in-studio together was collaborative and experimental: trying things out, trading off instruments, seeing what stuck."

Watch the video for "Moonlight Building" below, where you can also find the EP's tracklisting.

Catch Cots live on November 25 at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern with the Rheostatics, or on November 26 in  Kitchener at The Yeti with Ein Sof.
