Christina Martin released her optimistically titled album It'll Be Alright last year, and recently brightened up Exclaim! TV with a performance of the title track alongside her husband Dale Murray. Now, the country-rooted, pop-leaning singer-songwriter has unveiled a brand new video for "You Ran from Me" off that same record, and Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere.
The new clip follows Martin's visual offering for "Take Me Back in a Dream," and was directed by Kristy Wagner at Martin's home in Nova Scotia. Incorporating aerial shots from drones, the video follows Martin across a gorgeous but stark winter landscape. Joined by an equine pal, the singer makes tracks in the snow as they travel through fields and forest, battling flurries and not-so-toasty temperatures.
"I naively thought it would be a good idea to shoot on two of our coldest Canadian winter days," Martin revealed in a press release. "This made for much cursing on my part, and perhaps I was a bit more difficult for the crew to work with, but it was worth it! This video gives me a chance to show where I'm from, and also a bit of an insight into an old passion of mine."
It'll Be Alright is available now through Come Undone Records/MapleMusic Recordings. Watch the wintry video for "You Ran from Me" in the player below.
