Ahead of the release of his forthcoming record Suddenly, Caribou has shared a new single titled "Never Come Back."

According to a press release, "Never Come Back" was Caribou mastermind Dan Snaith's first finished piece for the new record. Quite the feat, considering the final tracks were whittled down from a collection of over 900 drafts.

"'Never Come Back' was the first track from Suddenly that I finished," Snaith said in a statement. "It came together very quickly and was one of those tracks that is a lot of fun to make. As soon as I landed on the main synthesizer chords and the repeated refrain the rest came together very quickly and naturally. I felt like it was my job to get out of the way and not overcomplicate or overthink it. Sometimes the best pleasures are the simple ones."

"Never Come Back" is the third track to be released from the upcoming effort, following album singles of "You and I" and "Home."

Suddenly arrives February 28 via Merge Records. Pre-order the album here.

Caribou hits the road for a North American tour this March, and will make a stop at Montreal's Osheaga music festival later this year — both as Caribou and as Snaith's alter-ego Daphni. Find those dates here.
