When the Books broke up earlier this year, the duo's Nick Zammuto hinted that the band would say goodbye with a handful of releases, including a career-spanning box set. Sure enough, we've now got some of the details of that forthcoming collection.
Zummato sent out an email to fans promising that the collection would be out "by the end of the summer." It will reportedly include the band's complete discography (that's four albums, plus an EP), along with bonus tracks and visual material.
The exact release date is still up in the air, but it will come out through Temporary Residence, who will being pre-orders on June 1. According to the label, only 1,000 copies will be pressed.
Zammuto has promised to blog about the songs and the band in the time leading up to the release. Zammuto, of course, recently released his debut solo album.
Thanks to Pitchfork for the tip.
