"Album will be finished before we leave on tour," Travis Barker tweeted of the reunion trek set, which is to begin this week

Even when he's on vacation, you can find our Editor-in-Chief trolling r/blink182. The grind never stops, dammit! Anyway, based on the links that have been emailed to me in the last 24 hours, the band seem to have finished recording their "progressive and elevated" new album.

Although drummer Travis Barker dislocated his finger in tour rehearsals and had to get surgery (and postpone said tour), it appears that his Twitter-specific fingers are quite intact.

"2 Coachella weekends in a row with an unhealed finger," the unofficial state enema shared of the band's tenure at the festival, which included a headlining slot for the second weekend when Frank Ocean dropped out. "Recorded last 4 songs on the album while I still had stitches. Tour in 4 days."

"Album will be finished before we leave on tour," Barker added of the reunion dates, which are scheduled to begin in St. Paul on Thursday (May 4).

And in case any skeptics thought the godfather of modern pop-punk was not a trustworthy source, Mark Hoppus posted on his Discord server over the weekend that he was "one verse away from finished with the record."

Founding guitarist Tom DeLonge announced that he had rejoined blink in October of last year. Shortly thereafter, the original trio released "EDGING" — but we haven't heard much about the new album to come since then. (It may simply have been too much on aging emo hearts for them to have announced the reunion, tour, single and inevitable impending record all at once.)

DeLonge's last album with the band remains 2011's Neighborhoods, while Hoppus and Barker released 2016's California and 2019's NINE following his departure from the group in 2015.
