Blink-182 fans now have a soundtrack for their ticket-acquiring rituals. After announcing their reunion with Tom DeLonge earlier this week, the band have released "EDGING," their first single with him in 10 years.
Produced by drummer Travis Barker, the track is the first taste of a new album coming next year. It offers the same pop structure, slightly edgy lyrics and clean production that Blink have been known for over the last few years.
"I wanted to imagine as a listener what I wanted to experience and at the same time as a band member what we wanted to make and say and most importantly how it would sound production wise in 2022," Barker said in a press release.
"I'm so happy to be back in the studio creating new music and looking forward to a giant world tour," Hoppus added.
This isn't Delonge's first time coming back to Blink. After leaving the band in 2005, he rejoined for 2011's Neighbourhoods before leaving again to work on Angels & Airwaves and his alien-hunting endeavours. On Tuesday (October 12), he penned an open letter to Matt Skiba who took his place thanking him for keeping the band "thriving."
With Mark Hoppus now fully recovered from cancer, Blink-182 are due to embark on their biggest world tour yet across 2023 and 2024.
