After announcing her 10th studio album Fossora earlier this month, Björk has now unveiled its cover art in addition to sharing its release date and tracklist.
The covert art was shot by Vidar Logi — who similarly shot the art for anticipated lead single "Atopos" — while Björk and James Merry served as creative directors on the visuals.
After sharing that Fossora would arrive sometime this fall, we now have September 30 to look forward to. Though further details remain scarce, Björk has shared another statement about the forthcoming body of work:
each album always starts with a feeling
that i try to shape into sound
this time around
the feeling was landing
( after my last album utopia which was all island in the clouds element air and no bass )
on the earth and digging my feet into the ground
That statement follows another that detailed the artist's attention to visual elements: "When I get asked about the differences of the music of my albums, I find it quickest to use visual shortcuts. That's kind of why my album covers are almost like homemade tarot cards. The image on the front might seem like just a visual moment, but for me it is simply describing the sound of it."
See the art and tracklisting below.
