Continuing with his "No Fun Mondays" cover series, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has released his take on Billy Bragg's "A New England."
Originally released back in 1983, the Bragg tune appears on Life's a Riot with Spy vs Spy. The track became a massive hit once Kirsty MacColl released her New Wave cover of Bragg's original the following year.
So far in Armstrong's series, he has offered up a cover of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" and a tribute to the late Adam Schlesinger with a cover of "That Thing You Do," as well as reworking the Avengers' "Corpus Christi," the Bangles' "Manic Monday" and Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now," among other tracks.
