Bear Mountain

"Hopeful"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 17, 2015

Last year, Vancouver indie outfit Bear Mountain treated us to a cover of Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," but the band are back with some brand new original material of their own.

They've offered up a new single titled "Hopeful," which is slated to arrive on their upcoming sophomore album. The new material continues to hear the band striving to find "interconnectivity" in an increasingly isolating digital age. That struggle manifests itself in Bear Mountain's carefully crafted sound, but as the title implies, there's also a definite sense of optimism.

"Hopeful" is a bright, explosive burst of electro-pop from the get-go, with a buoyant beat and infectious vocals, and you can give it a listen right now. The band's sophomore record is expected out in 2016 through Last Gang.
