BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 2, 2016

It's been an up-and-down day for the BC music festival scene. Following news that this year's Squamish Valley Music Festival has been cancelled, organizers behind the electronic-geared Bass Coast Electronic Music and Arts Festival have now unveiled the first wave of artists coming to their Merritt, BC-based event this summer.

The eighth annual instalment of Bass Coast will take place in the Nicola Valley from July 8 to 11, and today (March 2) the fest rolled out the first round of the 100-plus artists expected to make it onstage.

So far, it's been confirmed that the summer weekend event will feature sets from Machinedrum, Todd Edwards, Ivy Lab, Ardalan (Dirtybird), Scratcha DVA, Kahn, Octa Octa, Reva Devito, Roman Flugel, Sabre, Aden, &ME, Ekali, Avalon Emerson, Bleep Bloop, Sabo and Stray.

Down below, you'll find a video of the initial lineup reveal. More artist announcements are expected to arrive in the months leading up to the event.

Early bird passes for Bass Coast went on sale last November and have since sold out. A general admission pass is currently going for $279, plus tax. You'll find out more about ticketing options over here.
