You may recognize him as a member of Young Rival, but Hamilton, ON-based musician Aron D'Alesio is currently taking some time to focus on his solo work. He's unveiled a brand new track titled "Run," and Exclaim! is pleased to present the video premiere.
The tune comes from D'Alesio's upcoming four-song cassette release, which toes the line between "lo-fi fuzz and polished melody" and arrives later this month. "Run" is a catchy, psychedelic surf-rock number and the accompanying visuals take the beachy theme to a whole other level.
The footage seems to depict some hippie-friendly, mermaid-type females encountering a dead pterodactyl on the shoreline, and hosting some sort of burial ritual. Then spacemen appear.
It's as bizarre as it sounds, and the collected clips come from archive.org, marking the latest instalment of D'Alesio's video series. He's compiling clips for each of the songs on the upcoming cassette using vintage video from the site, and you can see the latest results by scrolling past his upcoming shows and watching "Run" in the player below.
D'Alesio will be celebrating the release tonight (May 20) with a show at Toronto's Double Double Land.
Tour dates:
05/20 Toronto, ON - Double Double Land
06/05 Hamilton, ON - The Baltimore House
