Artists have been reacting to the war in Ukraine in a number of different ways — cancelling concert appearances, performing musical protests and raising money, to name a few — and now Arcade Fire have thrown their wide-brimmed hats in the ring with a surprise concert in New Orleans to benefit the PLUS1 Ukraine Relief Fund.
The show is happening tonight at New Orleans' Toulouse Theatre, and it's a pay-what-you-can affair, with all proceeds going to the relief fund.
Fans in New Orleans can grab wristbands at the door starting at 10 a.m. CT, with one wristband available per person. New Orleans pianist Rickie Monie is opening the show, with doors at 7:30 p.m.
There's no official mention of debuting new music, but it seems more than likely that the band will bust out some of the fresh material that they've recently started teasing. The little eyeball-guy doodle that features on the band's website is also on the show poster, so fans should keep an ear out.
