Apparat Returns with 'LP5,' Shares New Song

While his past few years of music-making have been centred on his work with Moderat, Berlin-based Apparat has readied a new solo effort.

Titled LP5, the effort marks Sascha Ring's first album as Apparat since 2013's Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre). Ten tracks in length, the album will arrive March 22 through Mute.

LP5 is said to feature "delicately sculpted sounds crackling alongside filigree beeping and twitching." A first taste of the album arrives with single "DAWAN," which comes accompanied by a video. You can find that below.

"I was only able to make the record this way because Moderat exists," Ring explained in a statement. "Having a huge stage with Moderat gave me a setting for grand gestures and meant I could unburden Apparat from these aspirations. I don't have to write big pop hymns here; I can just immerse myself in the details and the structures."

Ring will take the record on a European tour in April, and you can find dates for that here.
