Moderat — the electronic supergroup of Apparat and Modeselektor — have returned with details of their fourth album. The trio will deliver MORE D4TA on May 13 via Monkeytown Records.
The 10-track MORE D4TA marks Moderat's first album since 2016's III, and their first since going on indefinite hiatus in 2017. At the time, the trio wrote that "Moderat ... is what we need to take a vacation from" after touring behind their aforementioned third LP for "4 years ... non stop."
Following that, the trio of Apparat's Sascha Ring, and Modeselektor's Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary spent months hanging out and getting musically reacquainted before writing the record, apparently "indulging in extended bouts of experimentation and slowly fleshing out ideas as they dove into modular composition, field recordings and other sonic oddities."
A first single from MORE D4TA is expected to arrive this Friday (February 11), and you can count down to an accompanying video below.
