Amy Winehouse's 'Frank' Gets Vinyl Reissue with New Half-Speed Abbey Road Mastering

BY Allie GregoryPublished Sep 1, 2020

Amy Winehouse's 2003 debut album Frank is getting a special vinyl reissue courtesy of the famed Abbey Road Studios. The forthcoming double-LP release is set to arrive on September 4 via Universal Music.

Pressed on heavyweight vinyl, the album has received a new half-speed remastering via Abbey Road. For the unfamiliar, a press release explains the following:

Half Speed Mastering is an artisan technique offered by Abbey Road Studios, that results in the very highest quality sound reproduction. UMC have created a range of bespoke vinyl pressings of iconic albums utilizing this process and have carefully selected Frank to be a part of the series.

The album features some of Winehouse's better-known tracks, including "Fuck Me Pumps," "In My Bed" and "Stronger Than Me." Originally released back in 2003, the record was hailed as "raw and timeless" in its tales of love and loss.

As a part of Exclaim!'s recently launch YouTube series, Class of T.O., Montreal's Hanorah is set to dedicate a live performance to Winehouse covers this month. Make sure to catch that next week and find the full schedule of events here
