Alice Cooper has announced a new solo album, Road, out August 25 via Earmusic.
Road was created with the help of longstanding bandmates Ryan Roxie (guitar), Chuck Garric (bass), Tommy Henrikson (guitar), Glen Sobel (drums) and Nita Strauss (guitar), and produced by Canadian producer and longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin. The album will surely please old-school Alice Cooper fans as it's rife with his signature sound, according to a release.
"For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs," Cooper said in a statement. "I only see these guys when we're on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so."
Road is Cooper's 29th studio album and the follow-up to 2021's Detroit Stories.
Today he shares the first single from Road, "I'm Alice." Opening with a driving drum beat and Cooper's raspy voice introducing himself as the "master of madness; the Sultan of Surprise," the song sets the tone for the rest of the album, inviting us to come along for what's sure to be a wild ride. Listen to "I'm Alice" below.
