In addition to the recent announcement of AFI frontman Davey Havok's new supergroup with three members of No Doubt, last week saw the release of a new single from the vocalist's long-running Blaqk Audio project with Jade Puget. Now, the latter have confirmed that a new album titled Material arrives April 15 via Blaqknoise/Kobalt.
A tracklisting has yet to appear behind the set, but it could be presumed that Blaqk Audio's recent "Anointed" single is on the album. A press release has unveiled the cover art, which can be seen up above.
Material is the duo's third full-length release, following 2007's CexCells and 2012's Bright Black Heaven. Havok explained in a statement that this latest collection "is darker than our records of the past."
Puget added that the band's electronic approach has only deepened since the last album, with the songwriter fully crafting the collection with Ableton Live.
"Each new release finds us in a very different place, creatively, than the last," Puget said. "Influences are different, musical interests have slightly or vastly shifted. As a writer, I've moved fully onto Ableton Live since the last album, which changes my workflow and writing style."
You'll find a stream of "Anointed" down below.
As for Havok's new band with No Doubt's Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont and Adrian Young, the as-yet-unnamed band have apparently already recorded a full-length release, which they're shopping around to various labels.
