As previously reported, AFI members Davey Havok and Jade Puget have returned as Blaqk Audio, with their Material due next month. Ahead of the proper release, the duo have slipped out a new electro-pop banger called "Waiting to Be Told."
The band had previously hinted at the album diving even deeper into digitized landscapes, with the music being composed entirely with Ableton Live. As such, Puget plasters the track with various melancholy keyboards and wildly oscillated tones. Frontman Havok uses a longing croon to detail the "quiet, biting fear" of loneliness, noting in the chorus that he's waiting to be told when to "come home."
You'll find the track below, via Billboard, while all of Blaqk Audio's Material arrives April 15 via Blaqknoise/Kobalt.
