A wrongful death suit filed against Jim Carrey over the death of his former girlfriend Cathriona White has been dismissed.

A representative for Carrey told The Hollywood Reporter that the case had been dismissed January 25 and would not comment further beyond saying the actor is looking forward to moving on with his life.

The case was filed against Carrey last year by White's estranged husband Mark Burton and her mother Brigid Sweetman. A trial was set to start in Los Angeles Superior Court in April.

White committed suicide in 2015 by overdosing on prescription drugs. In 2016, Burton filed a suit against Carrey claiming that the actor had provided her with the drugs in question. Carrey denied the allegations and filed a countersuit in September of last year, calling Burton's suit an attempt to exploit the vulnerability of a famous actor.

White, a makeup artist from Ireland, met Carrey while working on a film together in 2012. Burton and Sweetman claimed the two had broken up the day before White took her own life.
