The internet has become obsessed with lost media over the last few years, and now one of the most notable chapters of this phenomenon has finally come to a close — all thanks to two Reddit users who sorted through hours of porn for the cause.
This story begins three years ago when WatZatSong.com user Carl92 uploaded a 17-second clip of an '80s-sounding song hoping someone could help him identify it. It sounded instantly familiar to many, prompting a multi-platform search that prompted theories, video essays and its own subreddit. The track was colloquially named "Everyone Knows That (Ulterior Motives)" after its main discernible phrases.
While Carl92 was initially vague about where he found the clip, the internet remembers everything, and it turns out it's a song called "Ulterior Motives" written for the 1986 adult film, Angels of Passion. Meaning, Carl92 likely knew the origin and chose not to share it out of shame.
The case was cracked after a Reddit user found a similar-sounding track on a clip of another adult clip on YouTube, and found Christopher Saint Booth and Phillip Adrian Booth listed as composers. After remembering they had seen them listed as writers of a track called "Ulterior Motives" elsewhere, they skimmed through hours of porno to find the exact track.
Now, you can listen to the track in full, though the "clean" version without the extracted moaning is a bit janky. Angels of Passion is also available to watch on a certain B-list porn site, but you can go find that yourselves, you freaks. Listen to the probably NSFW audio below.
