Nearing three years since the renewal of The Righteous Gemstones, Danny McBride's preacher-minded HBO series is finally due to return in early 2022 — and today, we're getting a sneak peek at what's to come with a new trailer.
Season 2 will see the return of McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Adam Devine, Walton Goggins, Cassidy Freeman, Tony Cavalero, Tim Baltz and Greg Alan Williams. Jason Schwartzman, Eric Roberts and Eric Andre will join the cast.
According to HBO, the second season will find the "blessed Gemstone family threatened by outsiders from both the past and present who wish to destroy their empire."
Last week, executive producer David Gordon Green confirmed that the series had also been renewed for a third season
Season 2 will premiere on January 9 at 10 p.m. ET, with the subsequent eight episodes airing each Sunday night on HBO.
