Back in 2018, we learned about Sony's Spider-Man spinoff movie about the Spiderverse's vampiric villain Morbius. Now, the film's first trailer has surfaced for your viewing pleasure.
Jared Leto stars as the titular Michael Morbius in Sony's forthcoming film alongside Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Director Daniel Espinosa is helming the project alongside writers Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama.
For the unfamiliar, Morbius was created in 1971 by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane, with the character first appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #101. The character was a scientist who tried to cure himself of a blood disease, and is so often the case, things didn't exactly go as planned, resulting in the vampire-like Morbius villain and Spider-Man rival.
The film comes as the first effort in the MCU from Sony since it negotiated an agreement with Disney about Spider-Man's place in the Marvel Universe.
Morbius arrives in theatre on July 31.
