Way back in 2015, Lionsgate announced plans to reboot Vincenzo Natali's classic Cancon horror film Cube with a new movie from director Saman Kesh. While that has yet to surfaced, a new Japanese version of the flick has been completed.
Simply called Cube, the 2021 edition of the film comes from director Shimizu Yasuhiko. While its brief teaser does not have subtitles, it does suggest the same nightmarish cube that wreaked havoc on its prisoners in the original.
The original 1997 Cube has enjoyed status as a Canadian cult classic. It was followed up with 2002's Cube 2: Hypercube and 2004's Cube Zero.
