Stranger Things' fourth season is coming, and it'll be even bigger than before, according to showrunner Shawn Levy.
"To state the incredibly obvious, it's been way, way, way, way too long, and it's coming," Levy told Variety. The third season of the beloved show left off on a dark and uncertain note, with (spoiler alert!) David Harbour's Jim Hopper seemingly dead, the Russian's facility destroyed, and the Byers family skipping town.
Hopefully audiences will get answers sooner rather than later, as Levy said the last few months have been spent filming a large portion of the highly anticipated new season following several pandemic-related delays.
"I shot in Lithuania right before the pandemic. We have filmed in Georgia, Lithuania and New Mexico, so suffice to say Season 4 is sprawling," he said. "It's visually and narratively very ambitious, much more ambitious than the prior three seasons."
And while nothing is confirmed, Levy promises that it's on the way. "It's coming soon enough. And as for when exactly that will be announced — quite soon," he said.
Audiences caught a glimpse of what to expect from the fourth season when a teaser trailer was released in May, showing Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) locked behind a door that looks suspiciously like the very institution she was raised in. See that below.
David Harbour previously said that the season was nearly complete and would wrap up filming in August.
