Seth MacFarlane Wants 'Family Guy' to Leave Fox Because of Tucker Carlson

The showrunner has had enough of the newscaster's opinion pieces

Family Guy has called Fox its broadcasting home since day one, after airing its very first episode over 20 years ago. However, that may soon change if creator Seth MacFarlane has anything to do with it.

The showrunner has hinted that the long-running animated series might be shopping around for new network homes after one of Fox News' more controversial figureheads — the ever-peachy Tucker Carlson — brought more of his horrible hot takes to the network.

"Tucker Carlson's latest opinion piece once again makes me wish Family Guy was on any other network," MacFarlane tweeted yesterday (August 2). "Look, FOX, we both know this marriage isn't working anymore. The sex is only once a year, I don't get along with your mother, and well… I've been having an affair with NBC."

As Consequence points out, MacFarlane is likely referring to Carlson's claim that Dr. Fauci is "the guy who created COVID." Recently, the newscaster also made false claims about breakthrough cases of the Delta variant, which is currently seeing a surge in the U.S. and globally.

"Someone posted this on my feed, and it's a good reminder for those who balk when the messaging changes or evolves during the study of a new virus. Science is the only tool we have, and it's doing its best," MacFarlane tweeted later on Monday alongside an image that reads "Science is not the truth. Science is finding the truth. When science changes its opinion, it didn't lie to you. It learned more."

While nothing official has been announced, it appears the showrunner is eyeing NBC for his series' new home. Family Guy just wrapped up its 20th season in May, and has been renewed for another season, which is scheduled to air this September.
