Netflix Renews 'The Umbrella Academy' for a Third Season

Despite some controversies surrounding Season 2, Netflix has announced plans to renew The Umbrella Academy for a third outing.The show — which is based on the graphic novels by My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way and run by Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater — has been picked up for an additional 10 episodes. Season 3 will begin production in Toronto in February 2021.
Series cast members Ellen Page, Robert Sheehan, Tom Hopper, Aidan Gallagher, Justin M. Hin, Ritu Arya, Colm Feore, David Castañeda and Emmy Raver-Lampman are all set to return, as is Blackman as showrunner.
A release date for Season 3 has not yet been revealed. The show debuted in 2019, with Season 2 arriving earlier this year.
