Jeremy Strong Actually Drank That Gross Smoothie in the 'Succession' Finale

Meal fit for a king

It's already been known that Jeremy Strong is a bit too committed to method acting, so it shouldn't come as a shock that yet another incidence of the actor making life harder for himself has emerged. In a final commitment to Kendall Roy, the actor actually drank the gross smoothie featured in the Succession series finale.

Spoilers ahead for the show's final episode! While Kendall was still convinced he would take over Waystar Royco, his siblings Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman (Kieran Culkin) didn't miss an opportunity to make him pay for it. So, of course, they made him a "meal fit for a king": a blended concoction made from items within ultimate almond-mom Caroline's fridge. Milk, Tabasco sauce, bread crusts, Branston Pickle, raw eggs, cocoa powder and Snook's spit all made it in.

Speaking with the official Succession podcast, Strong admitted to drinking the horrid smoothie: "I wouldn't know how not to drink it," he said. "He wants it that badly that he's gonna drink whatever that is. But it was disgusting."

Once he drank the mixture, Shiv and Roman poured the smoothie over Kendall's head. "We did it only a few times, and I went outside and retched, and jumped in the ocean and washed it off my hair," Strong explained.

The scene was the last thing that he, Culkin and Snook shot together for Succession. "It was one of those times where I felt allowed to really just enjoy," Strong added. "You know, Kieran and Sarah and I have been through so much together. I love them so much, I respect them so much. Their work this season has just blown me away. But often, Kendall is at variance with them, or there is just so much tension and friction, and that's something that I need to take on board myself."

Following the scene's filming, Snook and Culkin shaved Strong's head — and smashed an egg on top of it for good measure. Watch a clip of that, and listen to the Succession podcast below.
