Emilio Estevez will reportedly reprise his role as Coach Bombay for an upcoming reboot of The Mighty Ducks.
The '90s film series is getting a reboot in the form of a Disney+ TV series, and Estevez will once again lace up his skates to play Gordon Bombay.
He appeared in the original 1992 film The Mighty Ducks, and its sequel D2: The Mighty Ducks. He even made a cameo in D3: The Mighty Ducks.
Slash Film has published the logline for the upcoming series, which reads: "After getting kicked off the junior division Mighty Ducks team, a 13-year-old boy and his mom decide to start their own team, finding players, a coach, and a place to play."
The publication also reports that the series will begin production on February 10 in Vancouver and run through June 1 of this year.
Other casting decisions have yet to be revealed, though a number of the original castmates did reunite IRL and on the ice last year, including Kenan Thompson, Danny Tamberelli, Colombe Jacobsen, Vincent LaRusso and Garette Ratliff Henson.
The original film also starred Joss Ackland, Lane Smith, Joshua Jackson, Shaun Weiss and others.
Unfortunately, in related news, Weiss was arrested this past weekend for residential burglary and being under the influence of methamphetamine.
