Following a serious endorsement from the cast and crew of The Suicide Squad, the City of Edmonton has officially moved to rename its City Hall the "Nathan Fillion Civilian Pavilion" after homegrown star, Nathan Fillion.

After a 2019 petition launched by Lauren Hunter and SONiC 102.9 FM garnered renewed attention this week ahead of the James Gunn-directed film's premiere today, the municipal government building will — at least temporarily — adopt the new name.

As of press time, the original petition has reached over 26,000 signatures of its 35,000-signature goal after receiving a boost from Margot RobbieJohn Cena, Idris Elba and more in a promotional video.

"I 100 percent support this completely, and I really, really hope you succeed in this mission, Edmonton. I believe in it," Robbie said in the video released earlier this week.
