Arriving today through Heart Lake Records, "Shine" marks Witch Prophet's first release since last year's Polaris Music Prize-shortlisted album DNA Activation.
"'Shine' is about overcoming hardships," the artist offered of her latest. "It's a glimmer of hope in a world that seems like it's falling. On 'Shine,' I sing about walking through fear, doubt and obstacles with confidence creating the path by leading the way. It's a reminder that even in the midst of a storm, sooner or later the sun will come up."
Last October, Witch Prophet shared a music video for "Tesfay," a visual work that is in contention for SXSW's Film Festival Music Video Competition prize this month alongside clips from Dirty Projectors, Run the Jewels and more. In January, she showed off her acting chops in a video from Cartel Madras.
