Arcade Fire member Will Butler has gone solo for the upcoming album Policy, and ahead of its March 10 release on Merge Records, he has shared the track called "Anna" along with a video.
The tune is a straightforward, new wave-flavoured electro-rock number in which a steady beat is overlaid with blippy synths. As the arrangement progresses, it makes room for blaring brass and dramatic piano, and Butler incorporates some hiccup-y quirks into his deep croon.
As for the accompanying video, it shows a suit-clad Butler dancing somewhere out in the backcountry. The lyrics pop up in speech bubbles, and some of the words are brought to life with simple illustrations.
