Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert are two of the latest inductees to the Pink Pony Club.
In a new episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson and Miranda Lambert performed an acoustic country version of Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" — but not after gushing over their love for the Missouri-born popstar. Clarkson and Lambert commended Roan's vocal ability and lyricism, and hoped that she "thinks [they're] cool."
Lambert, who had been introduced to Roan's music by her brother and his husband, shared that she had tried to meet Roan at the 2024 VMAs, where she went on to win Best New Artist, but was unable to. Lambert shared that she wanted to tell Roan that "she's so brave" and that she "loves anything authentic." (Roan has previously opened up about the harassment and stalking she has faced from obsessive fans during her meteoric rise to fame over this past summer.)
Clarkson and Lambert deliver a stripped-down cover of "Good Luck, Babe!", adding their own spin to the track with a country twang while still remaining faithful to Roan's original version.
Clarkson is no stranger to showcasing her formidable vocals on her show, which have included covers of Bille Eilish's "What Was I Made For?", "Can't Stop" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Alanis Morissette's "Ironic." Hopefully Clarkson will perform a full cover of "Good Luck, Babe!" in her Kellyoke segment.
