Vancouver-based emerging singer-songwriter and TikTok darling Kaleah Lee has announced that her debut EP, Birdwatcher, will be out on March 22. She's shared the news alongside the latest preview of the project, a new single entitled "The Same."

After returning from the formative experience of touring the West Coast with Leith Ross and Searows last spring, Lee found herself meditating on her goals and artistic identity. “It was just really a time that I got to reflect on where I am and where I plan to go, and how I want to move through the world, which I think I didn’t have as much of an idea of beforehand,” she explained.

The EP — entirely written, performed and produced by Lee — includes previously released singles "Where'd the Time Go?" and "Rotting Fruit." Latest cut "The Same" finds the artist gleaning insight from reflecting on patterns she's trying to outgrow, intimately describing her struggles with seasonal depression and loneliness at the centre of gauzy finger-picking and cooing background vocals.
