Third Man Records Lines Up Vinyl Release of Loretta Lynn's 'Van Lear Rose,' White Denim Live LP

Now that he's a single man, the ultra-prolific Jack White has more time than ever to roll out new releases through his own Third Man Records. Sure enough, the label just announced a handful of upcoming releases.

First up, on August 9, is a vinyl edition of Loretta Lynn's 2004 LP Van Lear Rose. Recorded and arranged by White, this collection helped to put him on the map as a go-to producer. Until now, the acclaimed album has only been available on CD, so this will give country music fans a long-awaited chance to listen to it on wax. The music was taken directly from the analogue masters.

Pre-order a copy here. In addition to the standard black vinyl, there will also be a special blue version limited to 300 copies. A hundred of these will be sold on release day at the Third Man store in Nashville, TN. The label hasn't yet revealed where the other 200 will be available, but the announcement said, "We haven't done a contest in a while... Hmmmm..."

On August 23, the label will release White Denim's Live at Third Man Records on vinyl. This album was previously announced and the performance scheduled for April, but it was cancelled -- apparently "due to interference from the Man." Although the public gig never took place, the Texas rockers performed an intimate show for Third Man staff at the label's HQ. There's no word as to exactly where the album will be sold, but it's bound to be available at Third Man's online store.

On that same day, Aussie songstress Lanie Lane will release a seven-inch containing the tracks "Ain't Hungry" (described as a "fuzz bass sassed stomp") and "My Man" (a "wailing waltzing lament to withheld love"). This will be available digitally and on tri-colour vinyl.

As always, don't be surprised if more releases from Third Man are announced soon enough.
